Why subscribe?

‘Our political system is not working’. At the centre of the reason why people from all works of life and political persuasions believe this statement is because they feel like politicians are often too focused on the next election to care about making decisions in the interest of future generations. As someone that worked in Downing Street I can confirm that many people involved in leading us do not even look past the following week when making decisions, let alone the next election. This is why we have set up Future-proof Politics.

This will be a platform for big ideas that take a longer-term view on things. We will try to answer some of the big questions of the day, including how to tackle the housing crisis that is impacting millions of people. We will look at how to deal skills shortages, aging populations in the west, and low productivity… issues that can only be addressed with long-term thinking and not pandering to the daily news agenda.

Speaking of news agenda; there will be some reflections on the news/politics of the day as well as some exclusive contributions from experts in their field. This will be a unique hub of information for people wishing to see more ambition for what we can become.

PS. I suppose you may want to know a little more about me:

I am an award-winning social entrepreneur, commentator, and strategist. I served as Special Advisor to former Prime Minister Boris Johnson where I held the Civil Society and Communities brief. My work included leading on the cross-government vaccine deployment confidence programme amongst other things. I’m the founder of an executive headhunting firm based in London and the Midlands and a published author. My latest book is called ‘The Power of the Outsider’. I’ve been involved in politics since I was 19 and am a twice elected district councillor.
